Vytran was founded in 1989 to develop and manufacture new technologies for optical fiber fusion splicing. Today, we are a leader in reliable, precision equipment for splicing, assembly and glass processing in custom fabrication and high-volume manufacture applications.

Vytran is headquartered in Morganville, New Jersey, and has European customer support centers in Exeter, UK, and Birkerod, DK. The company is owned by Denmark-based NKT (www.nkt.dk) and part of the NKT Photonics Group, a complementary set of companies with technological foundation in fiber-based opto-technology, semiconductor technology and micro-technology.

Optical Fiber Communication Conference/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC)
OFC/NFOEC is a conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking professionals that is slated for March 21-25, 2010, in San Diego, California. In booth #1641 from March 23-25, Vytran will showcase its semi- and fully automated solutions for low- to high-volume telecom manufacturing applications. This will include demos of its fully automated FAS all-in-one splicing workstation and FFS-2000 splicing workstation, both for optical communications fiber assemblies manufacturing, its GPX-3000 series of glass processors, LDC-200-G fiber cleaver, and PTR-200 series of fiber recoaters and proof testers.

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics/Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference (CLEO/QELS)
Slated for May 16-21, 2010, in San Jose, California, CLEO/QELS is a leading event focusing on early stage lasers and electro-optics. The CLEO exhibition will run from May 18-20. In booth #1324, Vytran will show its full range of optical fiber processing products for research, sensing and medical applications, including its GPX-3000 series of glass processors, LDC-200-G fiber cleaver, PTR-200 series of fiber recoaters and proof testers, and FFS-2000 splicing workstation.

SPIE Photonics West – Technical Presentation
Dr. Baishi Wang, Vytran director of technology, will discuss “High Powered Fused Fiber Laser Components” on Tuesday, January 26 at 12:30 p.m. in the Moscone Center South Hall, Demo Area 1. In his presentation, Dr. Wang will describe component fabrication techniques, discuss fiber fusion fabrication of fused fiber components for 1kW lasers and beyond, and give application examples.
