Vytran to Demonstrate Precision Optical Fiber Processing Equipment at OFC/NFOEC 2010
Booth #1641 Will Showcase Fully Automated “FAS” Splicing Workstation for High-Volume Fiber Component and Assembly Manufacturing
March 16 2010
Morganville, New Jersey, March 16, 2010 –- Vytran, an innovative supplier of optical fiber processing solutions, will demonstrate a range of fiber processing equipment, including its fully automated “FAS” fusion splicing workstation, at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference 2010 (OFC/NFOEC) from March 23-25 in San Diego, California. Vytran’s precision equipment is used in telecommunications fiber assembly and component manufacturing such as erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) module, and fiber Bragg grating (FBG) production.
“Vytran technologies help drive innovative component and assembly designs, facilitate high-density fiber packaging and miniature assembly size, streamline and speed production processes, often reduce manufacturing costs and improve our customers’ ROI,” said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. “At OFC/NFOEC, we’ll run demos of our individual process tools and all-in-one splicing systems for mid- to high-volume in-plant applications. It’s a great opportunity for attendees to ask questions and get a sense of how our expertise could improve their product designs and manufacturing processes.”
In particular, Vytran will feature its fully automated FAS splicing system for producing telecom fiber assemblies and components. FAS is a flexible, all-in-one, fusion splicing workstation that can be configured with multi-function “toolbox” modules into a high-volume manufacturing system. FAS systems enable fiber assembly miniaturization thanks to the small bend radius and high-splice-density packaging that are achieved via high-strength, low-loss filament fusion splicing combined with precision fiber recoating.
Vytran’s complete product lineup includes fully integrated workstation and discrete process tools for optical fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing, recoating and testing. At OFC/NFOEC booth #1641, Vytran will show its FAS splicing workstation, FFS-2000 splicing workstation, PTR-200 series of fiber recoaters and proof testers, LDC-200-G fiber cleaver and GPX-3000 series of glass processors.
For added convenience, attendees may schedule booth appointments through Jim Stathis, Vytran business development manager. He can be reached at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
