VYTRAN CORPORATION  was founded in 1989 for the purpose of developing, manufacturing and marketing new technologies for optical fiber fusion splicing and related applications.

Vytran’s unique product and technology base has been developed in response to the demands of both production and specialty fiber splicing. Vytran first developed a completely new method of fusion splicing - termed Filament Fusion. This patented technology, combined with a novel fire polishing process, provides process control capabilities unattainable with other fusion splicing methods.  This technology was followed up with other pioneering innovations such as the workstation approach to fusion splicing and the advancement of fiber recoating and proof testing methods.



Vytran continues to develop new technologies in response to the demands of WDM system and component manufacturers. Recent Vytran innovations include the introduction of the PTR-200 Series, a new generation of automated fiber recoating and proof testing products designed for high volume production processing.

The rapid advancement of the WDM market has contributed to the continued growth of Vytran. In mid-1998 Vytran moved its headquarters to a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility located in Morganville, New Jersey. Vytran has also established an Engineering and Technology Center in Exeter, England.

At Vytran, we will continue our commitment to developing and manufacturing high-quality, innovative products and technologies related to optical fiber fusion splicing.

  • The LDC-200 Precision Cleaver for large diameter optical fibers.
  • The FFS-2000 Filament Fusion Splicing Workstation for production and specialty fiber splicing.
  • The PTR-200 Optical Fiber Recoaters and proof tester/tension testers.
  • The TBS-900 Tight buffer stripping tool.
